Heat converters are a type of energy converter used to convert an electric current into thermal, magnetic, or kinetic energy. One example of this is a heat pump that uses electricity to power a motor-driven compressor that moves refrigerant to the heating side of the machine. This phenomenon transfers the heat from the colder to the hotter side of the machine and does not require any outside source such as electric heating elements.
